This video begins with numerous body and puck checking techniques to improve defensive advantage. Team defensive principles are then developed including defensive reactions to 2-on-1 and 3-on-2 situations, defending break-aways and blocking shots. Numerous penalty-killing techniques in the defensive zone are covered including one- and two-man disadvantage situations. Also covered are three-man rotations in the neutral zone when at a two-man disadvantage. Fundamental plays are demonstrated for face-off situations such as winning the draw, losing the draw, gaining puck possession from the face-off, and if the other team gains puck possession from the face-off.
